The effect of competitive exercises on some volitional traits and the performance level in weightlifting sport

Abstract

The research aims to prepare "competitive exercises and their impact on some volitional characteristics and the performance level in the sport of weightlifting; The researcher used the experimental method by using the experimental design for one experimental group by following the pre and post measurements of the experimental group. The sample of the basic study included (26) players from the Sports Academy at the Town Sports Club in New Damietta, and participants in the sports activity of the academy in weightlifting from the age of (15:13 years), the researcher made the measurements of the research variables by designing a scale of volitional traits and performance level tests (technical-digital) for the snatch, clean and jerk in weightlifting, It was processed statistically using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The results of the experimental group showed that the competitive exercises have a statistically significant positive effect at the level (0.05) on the volitional characteristics and the performance level (technical - digital) in the sport of weightlifting, with improvement rates ranging from (54.71%: 113.29%), The researcher recommends the use of competitive exercises to improve the performance level (technical - digital) in the sport of weightlifting because of its effectiveness, whether on the psychological or physical aspects, in addition to its use in different age groups of youth and adults in the sport of weightlifting.
